The teachings of the Bible possess timeless authority for all nations, all peoples & all generations.
The Bible's teachings are true through & through. Each chapter & page speak with eternal authority. And precede, supercede & trump all national, federal, state & local laws. In all nations. And override any court rulings by human courts, or edicts by human judges. Moses & Jesus, the epistles, the Biblical prophets & all writers of the Old & New Testaments are the ones to listen to. As they share what they heard & learned from God Himself. God is the ultimate authority.
To become wise, read all of scripture. Then note when laws or policies of any country or its politicians contradict divine truth. Human ideas must be held secondary. Proverbs 30:5-6 says: "Every Word of God is flawless." The leaders of nations must humble themselves & bow down. The Bible, in the book of Acts says: "We must obey God rather than men." God Himself wields preeminent authority. Forever.
To live & survive dark & confusing times, we need to return to the Bible in all our ways.
What the Bible teaches everlastingly applies - both broadly & specifically - to all locations & jurisdictions on earth.
Isaiah 7 says the "government will be upon Jesus' shoulders." From Christ alone, from the Word of God comes this generation's most needed truth. The Bible contains words & laws which preside over all of mankind. And over all generations.
In matters of morality, spirituality, sexuality & conduct, the scriptures are also the best Guide.
Close the TV guide, turn off the music, shut down the computer websites which stray, err & tempt. And go back to the unchanging truth of scripture: the Bible alone. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4
The scriptures direct, caution, teach, affirm & forbid. Whether we like God's standards or not, even God's forbiddances & judgments are right & good. Those words are there as guidelines to protect us. "Thou shalt not" should become like sweet music to our ears. Protecting us, keeping us happy, holy & healthy. Steering us clear of heartache, pain & shame.
Sex, in particular, is like fire. And needs to be kept within the safe confines of the fireplace or furnace.
Do we really love & respect God's Word? Do we obey it? Are we willing-minded to the most important Book. Heaven's writings & words of advice & counsel which surpass all the centuries? Isn't it time to turn to the inspired Word of God, the Bible. And look there for life's guidance & answers.
It's time to talk about marriage & sex. Here we go...
Marriage & Sex 101: Understanding God's design for exclusiveness, permanence & sacredness in marriage
God's Word on Marriage:
the one for life
Male/female relationships (or possible ones) are often a major point of confused feelings and decisions in most people's lives. Then to become a Christian and try to let God be Lord of this most unruly area of human emotion becomes a new, big challenge. To live life God's way and limit our number of marriage "relationships" (as God wants) to ONLY ONE for life, well, that's a BIGGER challenge. Yet God's expressed will and His only best.
For each Christian, there is meant to be only ONE husband (or wife) for each of us (forever) for the rest of our life.
The Biblical term, husband, refers to a male. Wife, refers to a female. Each male marrying a female is Jesus' definition of marriage.
Mark 10:2-16 Jesus replied..."At the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
One lifelong marriage (permanence). Between one male & one female (a heterosexual couple or relationship is the only permissible approach, by God's design). Lifelong faithfulness, one man with one woman, this is God's definition of marriage.
One lifelong marriage, lifelong faithfulness, is God's will and made clear by these words...
1Tim. 3:2 Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach...
1Tim. 3:12 A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.
Titus 1:6 An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife,a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.
1Cor. 7:10-11 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.
Notice God's Word consistently says: one husband, one wife, for life. Despite the numerous failures around us, in God there is a different way called for. And no truly legitimate exceptions. No separation. No divorce. Ever. Remarriage never becomes an issue. Because you do things God's way the first time. Any looking for loopholes or joining the unfaithfulness of our generation is somewhere you never want to go. Unfaithfulness or multiple marriages is never recommended or encouraged anywhere in scripture (except in the case of unavoidable widowhood). God's character and heart is faithfulness. Patient, persevering love. Lifelong trueness of heart. Faithful, steadfastness. Purity of life. One husband. One wife. Everlasting covenant.
Romans 7:2-3 By law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man.
1Cor. 7:39 A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.
1Tim. 5:9 No widow may be put on the list of widows unless she is over sixty, has been faithful to her husband...
Notice God describes here the kind of woman He considers blessed and commendable. One who has lived His appropriate way: in unbroken, lifelong faithfulness to ONE husband. And this, God's expressed desire for each marriage. Scripture constantly defines the male/female relationship of marriage as lifelong. The faithful way God says marriage needs to be done, lifelong with ONE.
Mark 10:2-16 Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" "What did Moses command you?" he replied. They said, "Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away." "It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law," Jesus replied. "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery." (Just read the book of Hosea to discover all the pain & heartache that adultery causes.)
Notice Jesus here 'raised the bar' and said that, in God, divorce is no longer an option. And whenever it was permitted in the history of man's choices it is revealed as only an act of sinful hardheartedness. And such sin, Jesus says, is not what God wants in the lives of His children. Hardhearted separation & divorce misses God's will (in many ways). And is clearly against His Word. What Love calls for in each marriage & each home is unity, lifelong faithfulness & love between man and wife.
2Cor. 11:2 "I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him."
Notice, even with the love of Heaven, God calls us to one Husband, heart faithfulness to One Love. And no other gods!

Keeping sex where it rightly belongs is super-important (channel all your romantic involvement within one marriage, between, simply, one man & only one woman together for a lifetime)
Add the divinely approved, right numbers together (1+1=ONE forever) to form a marriage blessed by Heaven, leading to the ultimate lifelong romance, the Biblical Song of songs.

Rule #3 Do not break covenant with the wife of your youth
Learn together how to build a health, loving, devoted friendship. A marriage closeness that stays close, loving, respectful & kind. Pray together. Read the Bible together. Go to a Bible-believing church together. Work out your problems & differences through grace, love & forgiveness. Communicate with kindness.
Matthew 19
Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee and came to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. 2 And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.
4 Jesus said to them, ÒHave you not read that He (God the Creator) Who made them at the beginning Ômade them male and female,Õ 5 and said, ÔFor this reason a man (male) shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife (female), and the two shall become one fleshÕ (married) 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. (two, permanently married & joined together as one) Therefore what God has joined together, let man (humans, governments, judges, manmade divorce laws, human lawyers) not (never) separate.Ó

How to follow God's design - to experience the ultimate marriage relationship
A. Only (one) male (man) & (one) female (woman) are designed by God to join together for a romantic, sexual marriage relationship Matthew 19:4-6 God calls this marriage holy & says such a relationship, by His design, is meant to last for a lifetime.
B. Numerically, Matthew 19 & Genesis 2:18-25 give us the clear divine standard: ONE (1) male (only) with ONE (1) female (only) can join together in ONE (1) lifelong romantic, emotional, sexual companionship relationship. This is the only relationship the Creator says can be called marriage. Anything different or contrary to this is not recognized as marriage by the Lord (God) Himself. The One Who created marriage alone sets the standards. And calls each man & woman rightly to a faithful marriage according to His definition. One which is exclusive & never to be broken or ended. Matthew 19:4-6
There is no other combination of numbers or kinds of people or gender mixtures (or changes to these standards) allowed or approved by God. Everlasting wisdom is found by following Biblically-revealed marriage design.
Specifically, Matthew 19 & Genesis 2:18-25 show there is no permission or approval from the Creator (God) for males to ever be with males - or females to be with females (romantically, emotionally or sexually). For such sinful practices, throughout scripture, there is only strong divine disapproval. God's judgments & ways forever stand. "I, the Lord, do not change." Malachi 3:6
